of wheat grinders

A part of our lifestyle is the use of a wheat grinder. Were it not so, the buckets of wheat we have stored in the basement would likely sit there forever and go rancid. We end up using our wheat grinder at least twice a week. Our Saturday tradition includes whole wheat pancakes in the morning and that requires 5 cups of whole wheat flour. It doesn't take going through too many recipes before we're back at the grinder. So you can imagine our dismay when our grinder broke.

The grinder was simply knocked over and the plastic top separated from the base, making it dangerous, if even possible, to operate. No problem, right? The unit had a life-time guarantee. We called in only to find out the company was bought out and the new company didn't honor the 'life-time' warantee. That being said, we did get 10 years out of the grinder before it went kaput.

So, after a week, we were really missing our grinder. There were a couple of units that looked good to us. The one company said that we could trade in for a small discount, but we decided this time that we would go with a name brand that is not only good quality, but that will stay around. We ended up getting a Bosch, and so far we are loving it. One of the biggest improvements from the one we had before is if the unit got turned off in the middle of a job, it won't get jammed. It's just slightly noisier than our Whisper Mill, but it can hold more flour in a single grinding session.

missing instructions for mattel game

We just stumbled across a card game that looked like a lot of fun at my mother-in-law's house -- Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone Quidditch. Only thing, the instructions were missing. After a few minutes of searching (and thanks to my wife's suggestion) we finally found a place where we could download a pdf of the instructions.

Thank goodness, too. I might have been able to pick up everything else except for the reward for winning a bludger and what team players can play on a given ball. I admit the rules are a little beyond self-explanatory, but after 10 minutes with the directions and a practice game, I think we were able to flush out our questions. Thank you, Mattel, for posting your game instructions!
